The IFAN National Museum – the Musée Théodore Monod d’Art Africain – in Dakar, Senegal, one of West Africa’s most renowned museums, presents „Surrounded by Distances / Entouré de Lointains„, an impressive solo exhibition by German artist Dieter Nuhr. Supported by the Brost Foundation, the exhibition features over 40 unique works – primarily large-scale landscapes and selected portraits. This marks the first presentation of Dieter Nuhr’s work on the African continent.

The exhibition project is a collaboration between the Association for Art in Public, Dirk Geuer (AAP), the Institut Fondamental d’Afrique Noire Cheikh Anta Diop (IFAN Ch. A. Diop) in Dakar, and the YOU Foundation – Education for Child in Need in official relation with UNESCO.

Patron of the exhibition is His Excellency, the German Ambassador Sönke Siemon.
