From September 1 to October 2, 2022, the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana will present the new works of the German artist Dieter Nuhr in its world-renowned Sale Monumentali, located directly on St. Mark’s Square in Venice. In an impressive solo exhibition entitled „Dieter Nuhr – Surrounded by Distances” Nuhr’s photography and digitally created paintings are placed in a compelling art-historical dialogue with the wall and ceiling frescoes by Titian, Tintoretto, and Veronese.

This international touring exhibition, supported by the Brost Foundation, reaches its second venue in Venice following its major debut at the Osthaus Museum in Hagen in May 2022 and will subsequently travel on to Dakar, Senegal.
The exhibition is organized by the Association for Art in Public.
