Dirk Geuer was appointed to the Supervisory Board of EXPO 2035 Berlin on 11th December 2024. With his extensive experience in implementing large-scale international art projects and his strong network across culture, business, politics, and media, he contributes key impulses to Berlin’s bid for EXPO 2035 – particularly with regard to artistic excellence, international visibility, and cultural diversity. Under the motto “All of Berlin a World’s Fair,” the German capital is to be transformed into a globally visible beacon of sustainability.
In addition to Dirk Geuer, the supervisory board is composed of the following individuals: Evelyne de Gruyter, a distinguished expert in the German economy with deep ties to Berlin’s social and political landscape.
Daniel-Jan Girl, a Berlin-based entrepreneur and former president of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who also assumes the role of chair. He brings strategic acumen and a strong commitment to sustainable urban development.
The initiative EXPO 2035 is spearheaded by the association Global Goals for Berlin, which envisions the German capital becoming a World Expo in 2035 — inspired by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and driven by courage and passion.
At the heart of the initiative lies the aspiration to actively involve the entire urban society: citizens and their ideas are to play a vital role in shaping a livable, sustainable future — a future grounded in broad social consensus.
