In spring 2023, the Catholic City Church of Wuppertal presented the peace exhibition‘#PeaceBell – musician, peace activist, painter’ in St Laurentius Basilica. The centrepiece was Michael Patrick Kelly’s bell cast from war scrap, complemented by photographs of the castingprocess, paintings by the artist and other exhibits. After stops in Dresden and Paderborn, thepresentation in Wuppertal-Elberfeld once again offered space to reflect on war, reconciliationand the role of art in the peace dialogue.
