At the Bol d’Or Mirabaud 2023, Project HOPE, the Association for Art in Public (AAP) and neo-expressionist Stefan Szczesny joined forces to link art and global health. Based on the#Art4GlobalGoals initiative by curator Dirk Geuer and the YOU Foundation, the campaignfocussed specifically on SDG 3 – ‘Health and Well-being’.

Szczesny had painted all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals on large-format sails; five ofthem were presented during the regatta on Lake Geneva. At the joint information stand, Project HOPE and AAP provided information about their global programmes to strengthenlocal health workers. Peter Wilden, Deputy CEO of Project HOPE and Chairman ofPolypeptide, emphasised that action must be taken now ‘if we want to create a world whereeveryone has access to the care they deserve.’

The event combined sporting tradition, artistic expression and a clear call for global healthcare.
