ELSEWHERE IS EVERYWHERE

DIETER NUHR

In the travelling exhibition ‘Elsewhere is everywhere’, which will be shown at nine locations worldwide between 2024 and 2027, the historic Ruhr region, Dieter Nuhr’s home, plays a central role. Motifs from this region enter into an exciting dialogue with impressions from the most remote regions of the world, which the artist explores on his travels and captures with his camera. The exhibition kicked off in 2024 at the renowned Bank Austria KunstforumVienna, followed by the Bavarian National Museum in Munich. In July 2025, Dieter Nuhr showed his works at the famous Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence, Italy. Further stops are planned for the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Germany and China until 2027.

Made possible by the Brost Foundation, one of the largest foundations for art and culture in Germany, and coordinated by the Association for Art in Public, it builds on the success of the previous exhibition project ‘Surrounded by Distances’. With stops at the Osthaus Museum Hagen, the Ludwig Museum in Koblenz, the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana in Venice, the Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo (MAXXI) in Rome and the Musée Théodore Monod d’Art Africain in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, it travelled through Europe and Africa in 2022 and 2023, attracting more than 50,000 visitors.
